I asked for some paracord for Christmas in different colors and I also got a book of fusion knots. Fusion knotting is using different knotting techniques together in new ways to make cool knot patterns. Fusion knotting happens to be great for making bracelets! So for the past five days I’ve been really into trying new designs from my fusion knotting book. I think I’ve probably spent about 12 hours making these 18 bracelets and 3 other knots in the past few days. It’s really fun because it’s easy for me to follow instructions for spatial things like this. I’m going to bring the bracelets to share with my friends on Friday.
The red and purple one is one of my favorites, and actually one of the easiest ones, a two color Solomon bar.
Most of the bracelets have two-strand diamond knots at the end to make a fastener with a loop on the other side. There are some bracelets that are adjustable or knotted around an elastic band so they are stretchy.
I made them all one at a time separately, but after finishing off the ends and laying them all out I realized that they go really well together, even though almost all of them are different patterns and combinations of color. I think that could be a metaphor, but I really don’t feel like finishing it right now, so I’ll leave it at that 🙂
